Rock-N-Roller carts are fantastic for hauling AV equipment, but sometimes they need a little customization to meet unique needs. One easy modification involves adding a hook for securing a tripod, utilizing the existing hole on the small-wheel-side handle. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you make this useful upgrade.

Materials Needed

Bolt (compatible with the existing hole diameter on the handle)

Nut (to secure the bolt)

Hook (choose one that fits your tripod leg snugly but allows easy placement and removal)

Wrenches or pliers (for tightening the nut and bolt)

Steps to Add the Hook

1. Identify the Hole

Locate the existing hole on the small-wheel-side handle. This spot is ideal because it doesn’t interfere with the cart’s ability to fold.

2. Choose the Hardware

Select a bolt long enough to go through the handle and secure the hook, but not so long that it obstructs folding or adds unnecessary bulk.

3. Assemble the Hook

• Insert the bolt through the hook.

• Push the bolt through the hole in the handle.

• Tighten the nut from the inside, ensuring the hook is stable.

4. Test the Hook Clearance

Fold the cart to confirm the hook doesn’t interfere with the folding mechanism. If it does, consider adjusting the bolt size or repositioning the hook slightly.

5. Secure the Tripod

To use the hook:

• Place the tripod leg over the hook.

• Ensure it’s snug and stable when tightened.

Why This Modification Works

This modification is simple but effective. By using an existing hole, you avoid unnecessary drilling or structural changes to the cart. The placement ensures the hook doesn’t compromise folding, and it keeps your tripod conveniently and securely attached for transport.
